The fundraising event highlight the Trevor Project’s work with raising awareness for suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth. This year’s event takes place this Sunday, 3 December, in Los Angeles.

The Trevor Project is honoring Tom Ford with the Hero Award.

In a statement, Ford said: ‘I have always been impressed by the tremendous impact that The Trevor Project has had on our youth, our community, and our country.

‘It is a true honor to be recognized by such an incredible, life-affirming organization. We need their support now more than ever, and I am honored to be part of this important cause.’

Trevor Project CEO and executive director Amit Paley called Ford’s affirmation of LGBTQ people through his fashion and films ‘incredibly important’.

Kristin Chenoweth, meanwhile, is set to receive the Icon Award.

Paley described her as someone the organization ‘absolutely adores’ as an ‘outspoken advocate for our community’. She has long advocated for both her faith and LGBTQ support.
