Cher rumored to be headlining Sydney Mardi Gras in 2018

Cher will headline Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in 2018, according to reports.

The news was reported by the Sydney Morning Herald of Fairfax Media. They claim sources close to the festival said Cher is ‘almost locked in’ to perform.

Brandon Bear, co-chair of Sydney Mardi Gras, declined to confirm Cher’s inclusion to the publication, but added ‘no announcement has been made’. He also said ‘part of the excitement of the party is waiting to find out who the headliner will be.’

The Believe singer turned 71 on 21 May this year.

‘Where am I going in March?!’

Earlier this month, the pop icon sent the rumor mill into overdrive when she cryptically tweeted: ‘Where am I going in March?!’

Cher is one of the best-selling pop stars of all times. She is known for hits such as Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves and Strong Enough.

The star is currently enjoying a successful Vegas residency. This year she furthermore won the Music Award for Icon at the Billboard Music Awards.

Sydney Mardi Gras takes places from 16 February 2018 to 4 March 2018.
