ENDA Delayed Again, Activists Grumble
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act's journey through Congress has been delayed again, according to an Advocate.com report. The Advocate story was e-mailed to this reporter by the Human Rights Campaign in response to a request for an ENDA update. The story said "lawyers" need to "adjust the legal language regarding issues of [...]
WAD – End the gay blood ban
"OutRage! is urging the gay-led charities, Terrence Higgins Trust and Gay Men Fighting Aids, to actively campaign for an end to the blanket, lifetime ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood in London. We hope they will join us by taking a strong public stand against this stererotyped, irrational, unscientific and homophobic policy," said LGBT [...]
Let LGBT Party Contest Elections
The Philippine elections commission should immediately reverse a decision denying a political party representing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Filipinos from taking part in the 2010 elections, Human Rights Watch said in a letter to the chair of the elections commission. Living Life to the Fullest
The most memorable person I ever met was my cousin by marriage, Roger Alan Weinstein. Roger never had much money, was never elected to public office, never won a major award, never appeared on People magazine or reality TV and never had any children (a mark of success in our society). And he died at a relatively young age, before his 50th [...]
Maine voters wipe out gay marriage law
Gays lost marriage in Maine on Nov. 3. A "people's veto" at the ballot box wiped out the law passed by the Legislature and signed by the governor. It had not taken effect, pending the outcome of the vote. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, voters took marriage away from gays by a margin of 52.82 percent to 47.18 percent. The vote [...]

"My body aches and my head is throbbing. Do I have the flu or is it just because I'm stressed or tired? Do I need a flu shot? Do I need the H1N1 vaccine, too?" Millions of Americans will be asking themselves these and more questions this fall and winter as news reports and health care providers continue to warn about seasonal [...]
Protesters march on Uganda’s N.Y. mission
Around 50 gays and their supporters protested at Uganda's Permanent Mission to the United Nations on Nov. 19 against a draconian anti-gay bill pending in Uganda's Parliament. The legislation bans anything and everything gay, including: touching someone in a gay way; funding or sponsoring gay groups; broadcasting, publishing or [...]
When Portia knew Ellen was the one
"(I knew Ellen was the one) when I first laid eyes on her. But it took me three years to actually tell her how I felt about her because I was on Ally McBeal at the time and wasn't living as an openly gay person. I was closeted and very, very afraid that if I talked about being gay it would be the end of my career. So I wasn't about to date the [...]
Beauty meets the best tech in new crop of gadgets
Function alone isn't enough to sell us on a new piece of technology anymore. Americans increasingly want their technology to look good - stylish, even - in addition to working well. "If you're old enough to remember the huge, clunky-looking 'car phones' of the late '80s and early '90s, or if you've seen them in the movies or on old TV [...]
