San Francisco premiere of A FAMILY IS A FAMILY IS A FAMILY

HBO Documentary Films and Frameline present the San Francisco premiere of A FAMILY IS A FAMILY IS A FAMILY: A ROSIE O’DONNELL CELEBRATION on Saturday, January 30, 2009 at 3:00PM at the Zeum Children’s Museum Theater in San Francisco.

Several Bay Area families are featured in the kid-friendly documentary, including: Najorae (El Cerrito) who sings an original song, “Love Is the Thing,” with her father; Neil and Cole (El Cerrito) whose mothers get married.

The film is a moving portrait of the remarkable diversity of families today that challenges stereotypes, highlighting same-sex parents, mixed-heritage families, single parents and stories of adoption. Interspersed with these family portraits are musical performances and animated interludes.

The film debuts on HBO Sunday, January 31 at 7:00pm.

Founded in 1977, FRAMELINE’s mission is to strengthen the diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and further its visibility by supporting and promoting a broad array of cultural representations and artistic expression in film, video and other media arts.

Bay Area organizations that participated in the production of the film include: Swirl, Inc. (SF), Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (Berkeley), Pacific Primary School (SF), San Francisco Day School, Glenridge Cooperative Nursery School (SF) and Kids’ Turn (Bay Area).
