Israeli hackers shutdown website of Lebanese LGBTI sexual health advocates

The website of LebMASH (Lebanese Medical Association for Sexual Health) has been hacked and shutdown since yesterday.

The attack came just weeks after LebMASH launched the country’s first LGBTI sexual health campaign. The campaign aimed to raise awareness on the negative effects of marginalization and discrimination on the health of LGBTI people.

People who visit LebMASH’s wesbite are now greeted with the message, ‘Fuck off homos’.

‘We are your father. Kneel down in front of your father. Remembered #OpIsrael? Time to pay. Stay out of Israel. That’s an order. Or we will fuck you up,’ the message reads.

Below the message are the hashtags ‘fuck Palestine’, ‘fuck Lebanon’ and ‘Hacked_by_legion’.

Finally, an animated GIF of the Israeli flag flies below the message.

‘We had received some negative messages on Facebook in the past, but this is the first time we get attacked,’ LebMASH board member, Dr. Omar Fattal, told StepFeed.’

‘We are very disappointed that whoever attacked us did not have the courage to contact us directly to discuss any differences of opinion they might have with us.’

Fattal said the hacking attack has cost the organization much of its budget which resulted in the ‘total destruction’ of the LebMASH website.

‘We are a small organization operating on a very small budget. An attack like this has made a dent in our budget, since now we are forced to spend a large amount of money rebuilding and fortifying our website,’ he said.
