Transport for London decorates the tube, bikes and buses with rainbows for Pride

Transport for London is celebrating Pride by decorating the transport network with a new rainbow design.

The bold design highlights the message #LoveIsLove and is found at the Oxford Street entrance of Tottenham Court Road station. It also incorporates a number of rainbow roundels at Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus Tube stations.

You can even find the design on the rear mudguards of 50 Santander cycles around the city.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: ‘Here in London, you’re free to love whoever you want to love and be whoever you want to be. That’s just one of the reasons why our city is seen as a beacon for the LGBTI community and has such a vibrant, thriving scene – one that is bursting with color, and contributes hugely to the life and soul of London.’

‘London is open’

‘As commuters make their way across the capital, they’ll be greeted by rainbow colors taking pride of place at Underground stations, bus stops and Santander Cycles around Soho, sending a strong message of support to London’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community,’ Khan said.

On the day of the London Pride Parade, TfL was also adorn several bus stops with rainbow flags. Two of the flags in Charing Cross will remain as permanent decoration after Pride celebrations to serve as a symbol of the organization’s support for the LGBT+ community.
