Glasgow Pride: 32 photos of Scotland finding its rainbow

Glasgow Pride today saw occasional rain showers – again – but no city knows how to survive a downpour and keep partying better than this.

And for the first time ever, Scotland’s first minister, Nicola Sturgeon MSP, addressed the crowds.

The weather-hardened revellers were keen to raise the profile of LGBTI families. Pride Glasgow created a new family area for the festival in 2016. And organizers have worked throughout the year to raise the profile of same-sex adoption and fertility treatments.

Around 5,000 people and 80 floats took part in the parade through the city’s streets. And an estimated 50,000 people watched them.

Now they will enjoy two days of entertainment on Glasgow Green. 90s Irish pop sensation B*Witched and 1981 Eurovision winners Bucks Fizz are headlining.
