MP who said there’s no gays in his electorate wants the word gay back

A northern Australian politician wants the word gay back from LGBTI people.

Bob Katter is famous for saying he would walk ‘backwards from Bourke to Brisbane’ (1000kms) if there were any gays in his electorate.

‘‘Oh they’ve got this thing called marriage, the other mob, we will take that too’. Well what else are they going to take? Are they going to take our freedom to say we don’t approve of what you are doing?”

Katter seemed very worried that LGBTI people would also claim marriage as they’re own. He said they would ‘take it’ away from straight people.

‘I don’t want them abrogating to themselves the right to take the most beautiful word in the English language and saying, ‘oh now that’s mine’,’ he said…..
