HRC Gives Thanks for Your Dedication to Equality

Following a year of attacks on our community from the Trump-Pence administration, HRC is thankful to our staff, members, supporters and volunteers who stepped up like never before to  resist the Trump-Pence Administration’s discriminatory agenda at every turn.

We are thankful to those who rallied on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, at the Supreme Court of the United States, and in statehouses across the nation to demand our Constitutional right to equality, and to push back on discriminatory efforts.

We are thankful to those who rallied at the White House and made calls to members of Congress to save the Affordable Care Act, protect honorable transgender service members from discharge under Trump’s unconscionable ban, and demand commonsense gun safety measures.

We are so incredibly grateful to those who knocked on doors and mobilized in record numbers to turnout the vote earlier this month, resulting in historic wins for pro-equality candidates. Eight openly transgender candidates were elected to public offices in states across the country from Georgia to Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire to California — a clear repudiation of Trump-Pence’s vitriolic rhetoric of division and hate.

We thank you for having the courage to stand up and speak out for what’s right and just. Despite these uncertain times and because of your tireless work to oppose discrimination, we know for certain that the tide continues to shift toward full equality.

With you by our side, we are undertaking our largest grassroots expansion ever, HRC Rising. The bold, proactive campaign aims to accelerate progress in states from coast-to-coast, resist the politics of hate, fight anti-LGBTQ legislation, and fuel pro-equality candidates and initiatives.

We will continue marching forward with you, and, together, we will build our momentum into victories that will end injustices and guarantee full equality for the LGBTQ community.
