Chasten Buttigieg slams Lauren Boebert for tone-deaf tweet after CO Springs shooting

Chasten Buttigieg sharply condemned Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) after her tone-deaf statements about the Colorado Springs, Colorado LGBTQ bar shooting that left five people dead and 18 injured. The shooting occurred the night before the club was set to host a drag brunch.

“The news out of Colorado Springs is absolutely awful,” she wrote. “This morning the victims & their families are in my prayers. This lawless violence needs to end and end quickly.”

Boebert has spent her first term in Congress attacking LGBTQ people and portraying them as a danger to children. Meanwhile, she has opposed all gun control legislation and even rose to fame off the gun-themed restaurant she owned where the waiters carried guns.

Buttigieg, whose husband is out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, wasn’t having it.

“You encourage this type of hatred,” he responded. “Get off Twitter and start looking inward.”
