George Santos still claims mother died due to 9/11 attacks despite not being in country

Gay Rep. George Santos (R-NY) recently repeated his claim that his mother died in connection to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC), even though immigration documents suggest that she was in Brazil at the time of the attack.

In a One America New Network (OANN) interview last Saturday, Santos said, “[My mother] had died as a result of [the September 11, 2001, attack]…. The toxic dust that permeated throughout Manhattan and my mother being present, downtown Manhattan, that is, was what I was referencing.”

“My mom died in home-hospice in 2016.”
