Fall TV Season Begins:

The coming weeks mark the beginning of the networks' Fall TV season, with more than three dozen shows making their debuts and the season premieres of over 50 more.

Joining the already-premiered Action this week are the 1999 GLAAD Media Award-winning comedy series Will & Grace (see story below), Media Award winner Spin City, Profiler, and two new series: Oh Grow Up and Mission Hill.

Debuting in the coming weeks are gay-inclusive series Dawson's Creek (Wednesday, September 29), NYPD Blue (November 9) and the premiere of the new Kevin Williamson drama Wasteland (Thursday, October 7). The debut of the new ABC comedy Then Came You, which features a recurring gay character, has been pushed back to mid-season.

Will & Grace Return:

After winning its time slot throughout the summer, the hit NBC comedy Will & Grace debuts its second season Tuesday, Sept. 21. Picking up where last season's finale left off, the hilarious season premiere finds Grace (Debra Messing) moving out of Will's (Eric McCormack) apartment; Will getting ready for a date with someone he meets at a Borders bookstore; Grace throwing a dinner party; and the irrepressible Jack (Sean Hayes) moving in with Grace's super-rich assistant Karen (Megan Mullally) and his new "wife" --Rosario, Karen's maid.

Later this season, fans can look forward to the return of Debbie Reynolds for at least four episodes as Grace's mother, and Will finally getting to date A LOT! "You'll see Will on a slew of bad dates," series co-creator Max Mutchnick told USA Today.

"I'm sure you will see a kiss at some point this season, but it won't be a big, momentous thing. We're not writing the episode so that Will can kiss someone. It's just something that will happen."

And just to whet your appetite: in Tuesday's premiere, you'll get to see Will as you've NEVER seen him before--naked.

Take Note:

The Ever-Popular Delta Burke: Former Designing Woman Delta Burke will be returning to TV this fall in the new comedy series Popular, which debuts Wednesday, Sept. 29, then moves into its regular slot Thursday, Sept. 30. Burke will play former Miss Texas Cherry Cherry, whose daughter, Mary, runs for homecoming queen (Burke herself was the real-life Miss Florida in 1974).

dburke2.jpg - 22.80 K Delta Burke, here showing off her new line of clothing, will return to TV Sept. 29 Out-and-proud series creator Ryan Murphy says he wrote the part of Cherry Cherry with Burke in mind and never had a second choice for the role if she was unavailable. Murphy hopes that Burke will be able to make return appearances on the upcoming comedy.

Everybody Loves Bruce: Get Bruce!, the very funny documentary film about Bruce Vilanch, opens today in limited release. One of the most in-demand comedy writers in Hollywood, the openly gay Vilanch is paid tribute by a who's who of Hollywood stars, including Robin Williams, Bette Midler and Vilanch's Hollywood Squares co-star, Whoopi Goldberg.

Speaking before the start of the Los Angeles premiere last Tuesday, Vilanch told the crowd (which included Will & Grace star Eric McCormack, RuPaul, Margaret Cho, Kathy Griffin and Doris Roberts), "I hope you like this movie. If you haven't heard anything about it, basically, I'm dead from the beginning of the movie, and the little boy doesn't know it!"
You Don't Say

"Daniel threw this big swing dance birthday party for me and he had the ring on him the whole night. He was going to (ask me) but he didn't because we had too much champagne. He gave it to me the next morning in bed; we were just waking up. I was half asleep when he whispered in my ear asking me. And the ring was in his hand. It was perfect.''
