Washington, D.C.--Vice President Al Gore met with the leadership of the
National Stonewall Democratic Federation (NSDF) at his official residence
Friday to discuss issues of importance to the lesbian and gay Democrats and
to the Vice President.
The meeting, held at the request of the Vice President, offered frank and open discussion
of issues including ENDA, hate crimes, women's healthcare, immigration and HIV/AIDS
funding, among others.

"Thank you, Mr. Vice President, for your support throughout your life of
non-discrimination policies and your commitment to 'Justice for All.' I
look forward to working with you in the future on these issues," said
Steve Driscoll, NSDF Board Member from Pembroke, Massachusetts.
Gore assured NSDF members of his dedication to ending discrimination and spoke of a new
America where we can "Expand the circle of human dignity."
"I think that the Board of NSDF and the Vice President were pleased with
the dialogue and outcome of this meeting," said Michael Perez, Board
Co-Chair from Arlington, Virginia.
"This was a historic event: we were asked to meet and discuss issues with the possible
future President and leader of the free world. Gore understands the importance of
inclusion and equality," said LaQuetta Nelson, NSDF board Member from Montclair, New
Jersey.
"We understand that for the future of civil rights protections and full
equality we must elect a Democrat to the White House. 'The Democratic
candidates on their worst day are still better than the Republican
candidates on their best days," added Michael Milliken, NSDF Board Member
from Dallas, Texas.

At the request of the Bradley campaign, NSDF Board members also will meet
with him at a convenient date in the near future. NSDF will decide after
meeting with both candidates the timeline for an endorsement for the
Democratic presidential nominee.
