Larry Flynt is still on the hunt for hypocrites
Larry Flynt, publisher of Hustler magazine, is carefully planning—in March-- a full-scale expose of the private sex lives of Republican hypocrites as well as of philandering media personalities who've masqueraded as outraged morals-protectors during the year-long Kenneth Starr/ U.S. Congress' witch hunt into the President's sex life.

In a Salon magazine interview this week, the The Robin Hood of Porn promised to strike a blow for human decency against at least 12 Republicans in the wake of their recent fostering of political and cultural sanctimoniousness as well as of false piety.

Mr. Flynt, according to an informal GayToday poll, is, in many minds, an American hero, notably unsung by some but much-admired by others for "putting his money where his mouth is."

Flynt's admirers point to how, with private funds and at only one-fortieth of the cost of Kenneth Starr's investigation, he has accomplished what Kenneth Starr only dreams about accomplishing: eliminating amorous but paid government liars and hypocrites.

Miami-based gay activist, Bob Kunst, told GayToday that such news as Flynt's is not only welcome but will be useful "in our forthcoming struggles against hypocritical politicians who serve the religious right."

Kunst, who heads the Oral Majority, and whose ongoing 'Impeach the GOP' campaign is gaining steam (See The Advocate, March 2, p. 15) talks in ominous tones of the necessity to slow down "these idiotic religious zealots and their Republican puppets" because, he says, they're furious at having lost on impeachment and they're more energized now than ever before against bisexuals, lesbians and gays." "Homosexuality," says Kunst, is the last scare-card they've got in their political pocket."

Larry Flynt promises—within three weeks-- a page by page array of mug shots of politicians and meandering media moralists who've had affairs. He assembled his now much-awaited exposes after offering up to one million dollars to anyone who could document an adulterous affair with a politician or a high-ranking government official.

House Manager and abortion foe Bob Barr (R.-Georgia) an impeachment prosecutor, was, on January 12, the latest Republican congressman to be accused of hypocrisy for allegedly helping his wife get an abortion.

Although Barr remains in office, Rep. Bob Livingston (R.-Louisiana), scheduled to take the place of Rep. Newt Gingrich, will not. The fact of his extramarital affairs, admitted to by Livingston himself as a result of Larry Flynt's promised exposure, found the conservative quitting the promised post and preparing to resign from the U.S. Congress in June. bbarr.jpg - 7.55 K

About his new revelations Flynt told Salon: "There a couple of people in the media that the press doesn't lay a glove on. Apparently (one prominent anchor) is like a rabbit I mean, he's got a revolving door to his office…"
