United Press International Spreads Word to Worldwide Audience

United Press International's news service spread word around of the world yesterday of Bob Kunst's Oral Majority boycott of Caribbean tourist destinations.

UPI told how Kunst's protest group had recently met a ship carrying 800 lesbians docked in Miami. The lesbian tourists had experienced difficulties as a result of 1,000 fundamentalists who swarmed over the dock in Nassau. This occurrence followed a previous ruckus when a cruise ship carrying 900 gay male tourists was turned away from the Cayman Islands.

The flamboyant, indefatigable Miami Beach activist's strategies have been showcased as top news since Badpuppy's GayToday got its start over a year ago.

Kunst, a veteran crusader for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights is best known for having made orange juice ad woman Anita Bryant look foolish in a nationally televised debate in 1977. He also initiated and led a successful orange juice boycott in response to Ms. Bryant's "Christian" fundamentalist hate campaign.

"Putting it mildly," said Kunst to a growing constituency of Key West boycott supporters, "I'm up to my keister in work, but moving mountains."

Kunst, who was arrested at an anti-gay rights rally last year led by Pastor Garnicki, is hailing as a gay victory the recent conviction of the hypocritical clergyman on charges of having raped a teen-aged girl.

The Lambda Democratic Club in Key West has invited Bob Kunst to speak April 29 at Key West's Café Blue (1201 Simonton Street, 7:30 p.m.) "On this occasion," says Kunst, "it will be day 99 of America Held Hostage to the GOP sexual witch hunt by the extremists in the party willing to dump on the nation to get Clinton and the nation's gay and lesbian communities in the process."

"I'm doing a stop the Sexual Witch Hunt" protest," he told GayToday and a news conference in Tallahassee on April 27 at the State Capitol with a message on how to defeat the 'witchhunters on the ballot."

Thereafter Kunst is carrying his protest to Daytona/Jacksonville April 23-25 and for Gay Pride in Myrtle Beach between April 30 and May 3. He asks for supporters to join him in those areas to add their clout and financial support to his protest/boycott endeavors.

"If South Florida does its thing," he says, "with massive visibility, millions from around the world will also join us and those 2/3 still supporting Clinton are already voting with us."
