Foul Play for Jacob Moses, 37, and Louis Foggy, 46 ? Gay Male Bodies Have Surfaced in Schuylkill River |
Compiled By GayToday Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—Mark Segal, publisher of Philadelphia Gay News and a gay activist since his teens, says the city's police are moving too slowly to solve the mystery drowning deaths of two gay men, Jacob Moses, 37, and Louis Foggy, 46. Though the men's bodies were discovered near Cherry Street in early June in the Schuylkill River, a police investigation to determine whether the deaths are linked or may be the the result of foul play, was launched on Tuesday. Drowning was listed by The Medical Examiner's Office as having caused both deaths. No blunt instrument or bodily trauma was involved. The manner in which the men died , therefore,– Murder? Suicide?—has been left undetermined.
A police liaison to Philadelphia's gay and lesbian community Police Inspector James Tiano, has given assurances that police are focusing on the two men's unexplained drownings. InspectorTiano made a point of saying that there is no evidence, thus far, of wrongdoing.
