'Most of them Were Homosexuals' Mexican 'Railway Killer' May be Responsible for 11 Deaths Tells News Anchor: 'The Bible says Homosexuals Must Die!' |
Anchor Maria Elena Salinas visited Resendiz at the Terrell Unit Maximum Security Prison in South Livingston, Texas, where the Mexican national is awaiting execution after having been convicted of the murder of Houston physician Dr. Claudia Benton. This was the first time that Resendiz had talked to the media in the United States following his surrender to the police in July 1999. The interview was conducted at the maximum security facility's "Death Row," where a bulletproof glass separated interviewer Salinas and Resendiz. Although convicted of only one crime, the Mexican drifter is linked to at least 11 other murders, all of them committed near railroad tracks -- which is why he has been named the "Railway Killer." In his conversation with Salinas, Resendiz confessed--with a chuckle – that in addition to those 11 murders, there are many others that he is responsible for but has not been linked to. However, he refused to reveal the exact number or the identities of his victims, with the exception of Daryll Kolojaco, whom he identified as "a homosexual who had to die."
However, he was willing to disclose the sexual preference of most of his victims: "Most of them were homosexuals," he stated calmly. "According to the Bible, homosexuals must die because they will never enter the kingdom of God." Referring specifically to the murder of Dr. Claudia Benton, who was found raped and stabbed to death in her Houston home in 1998, Resendiz explained his motive as follows: "The doctor was doing experiments with babies. I saw that in her computer when I broke into her house. I had a bad feeling when I went in; I felt something bad was going on in that place. I didn't know what, but I did see what was in the computer and the experiments she was doing. I killed her mainly because of that." Other Points from the Interview:
