No More Bushit: Candidate Bob Kunst's 220th Protest
I was allowed 3 minutes, and held up my "Bush Stole The Election" banner, then the "No More Bushit" sticker and told them I was on my way to protest "W", and got a large round of applause and then in 3 minutes explained all I could to more applause, and enthusiasm with a mostly older crowd. Then in Robert's speech, she said, she agreed with me that "W" was 'selected', and then went on to say that I as a protest candidate would only re-elect Jeb. I had to wait for the question and answer period in order to clarify to her that I was the only one who could beat Jeb, since I was the only one discussing any issues that mattered and would bring folks back into the voting booth. Our tit for tat exchange, has a history, in that last year, in April when the National DNC met in Riviera Beach, and Terry McCauliffe, said they wouldn't do anything about the stolen election, I confronted Roberts on why she took off on Thanksgiving Day, when the recounters in Broward County didn't, and had the most liberal interpretation of the whole process which Katherine Harris accepted, but because Palm Beach took a vacation, they didn't turn in their 200 Gore votes till two hours late, and were not accepted. She blamed it all on Theresa LaPore of 'butterfly ballot' treachery.
So this morning, I again hear the news about her on NPR on my way to the protest, which I would get to around 8 A.M., and a very nice Sheriff's Officer told me where to go and where to park. My car was facing the road for all traffic to the Volusia County Science Institute and where the Bush Brothers would be coming in. I immediately put my bright Orange and Black "Bush Stole The Election" banner on the hood of the car, and then made an emergency sign that read: "Enron Paid For Stolen Election", for the front window, and then a double sign that said: "Osama Bush -- Terrorizing and Betraying America", which I would carry. I also wore my "FED UP?" tee-shirt with "Outraged:Kunst For Gov. Com" bumper sticker and "No More Bushit" bumper sticker also on the shirt. To my surprise, I was getting a lot of thumbs up right from the git go, while a beared county worker from the County Lab across the street started to verbally attack me as a 'loser' to which I replied, "No More Bushit". By this time Robert and Cindy from Daytona Beach arrived on a Harley and joined me with their large sign: "Economic terrorism-10 million illegal aliens taking our job, our future, our social security, lowering our wages. Where is our Government? Buy USA" And for nearly 3 hours, we stood out there and stood up for America together and got a lot of very positive feedback, and only 3 'fingers' and 1 "Traitor" thrown at me. In the first hour, the dozen folks from the County lab, made up a cardboard sign and stuck it illegally near us that said: "VILLAGE IDIOT" and an arrow pointing towards me (us). We were at the corner of Tiger Bay and Indian Lake and just about everyone refused to stop at the stop sign in their turns. Along the way to us, on every block were motocyclists from the various police agencies, and folks outside waving flags. We had two Secret Service folks with us, and two Sheriff Motorcycle officers as well, and when "W" turned the corner by us, we were about 50 feet from him and he got the full monte of our protest from the car to our hand held banners, and he gave us a "Thumbs Up", and a smile, but he definately saw the messages. Mind you, after all the protests in 56 cities since November 7, 2000, this is the closest I've ever gotten to "W", where in many cases, we were blocks, even miles away, and here I was 50 feet. or less, and he got an eyeful. While waiting for him to leave, we had a woman visitor who feeds prisoners at a state facility, and she gave us a load of what is going on in this place with 2500 inmates. Then when "W" was ready to leave, this time it was Jeb who got to see the whole thing, closest to the window, while "W" was at the other window looking away and Jeb waves at us. Got them both. Victory! We would continue to protest for all cars leaving the event, when we had 3 cars pull over and a woman reporter from Florida Radio Network (11 cities), and both a photograher and newsman from the Florida Today Newspaper out of Brevard County, come over to interview us.
I also reminded the media that for four months, the Bushes were promoting our going shopping for our patriotism till today's 'volunteerism' crusade. Robert was explaining that as a professional carpenter, how wages are $4.50 to $6.50 an hour and dismal at best, with little support or strength from the unions on what is really needing to be addressed with illegal immigration, among other issues. Cindy was holding up a "No More Bushit" sticker throughout the whole event. We did a great job, stood up for our country, exchanged info and numbers and they took two "Kunst For Gov.com" bumper stickers and we may again protest in the middle of 'bike week' in March here in Daytona. It was all worth the trip, and the Bushit Brothers got an awakening, most of the media is ignoring. So what's news. Tonight I address the United Lauderhill Democrats in Broward County and will share with them today's great successes.
Yours Faithfully, Remember the Dust bin Children Why go tsk tsk tsk about Korean shut down of Queer web sites when no one is going tsk tsk tsk about the same thing happening in California? A criminal aspect is in effect concerning the webmaster who went ape-shit under pressure. How ever the site was ordered by the court to be shut down, the webmaster to have no contact with the site or any similar site. He is unable to share the contents of the site with anyone else. Use of the site has been denied to the many people who contributed to it and received benefits from the site.
Keep in mind the Korean National Anthem is the oldest National Anthem in the world. It is over 4000 years old. The name is something like Audi Daunk. I was able to pronounce it and sing it with the Koreans during the Harvest Moon Festival when I was drunk enough on Raisin Jack. And then there was the National Chinese Embassy in the Early 50s. Always keep a letter of protest to the point and do not amble about on the byways. This note is a poor example of that. It boils down to the basic fact that no matter the suffering in other countries, whether from oppression, hunger, getting heads cut off by our great allies the Saudis, I am more interested in the Queers in the U.S. not being oppressed, killed, bashed etc. I am more interested in the tens of thousands of children in this country living substandard lives. Want to feel sorry for someone? Remember the "Dust Bin Children." A good day to you from he who just has to rant and rave. Bob To Waldenbooks in Ketchikan, Alaska This is a notice of discrimination against gay and lesbian men and women in southeast Alaska against Waldenbooks and the Waldenbooks store in Ketchikan, Alaska. 1. After you changed store management last summer, immediately all gay and lesbian theme magazines and books were removed and subsequently have not been available. At first I thought the Advocate and Out magazines were sold out more quickly than usual and was told they would be ordered. However, none were found sense on the shelf and the manager refuses to reorder any gay or lesbian magazine. Likewise with gay and lesbian themed books. When I asked why he was not reordering any gay or lesbian theme magazines or books, he replied "They were not selling". This was a lie. Gay-themed magazines usually sold out within two weeks. Books, when displayed openly, sold quickly. 2. After all gay theme books disappeared, originally hidden on a bottom shelf in the social sciences section, I asked if the manager would order Men on Men 2000 and other popular books for the community here. He at first refused to discuss ordering any gay books than said he feared they would not sell. The smirk on his face made it clear he would not provide good customer care for me. 3. Well displayed on two shelves of the self help section are heteroerotically explicit Playboy and Penthouse books. There are no gay, lesbian, transgender, or cross-dressing theme books available. Again, when asked, the manager refuses to carry any gay themed books, even helpful books for the parents of gay children. 4. Most of the staff at the store are friendly and helpful. I find the management distant and unfriendly towards myself and openly gay friends. It affects our purchasing as well. Waldenbooks is the only major book store in south southeast Alaska. When I asked for a complete boxed CD set of Lord of the Rings, I was told I had to buy the separate sets he had on hand and then he stated he couldn't order the complete set. They had one complete CD set before Christmas that sold quickly. I know when I am being put off and being discriminated against. The tone of the managers voice was disturbing if not threatening. 5. Waldenbooks Ketchikan Alaska is unlike stores in the south. Instead of having an openly displayed gay and lesbian book area, there are two prominent heteroerotic theme sections openly displayed near the children's books. Instead of having a variety of openly displayed gay and lesbian theme magazines like Out or the Advocate, as they once carried, they have a whole section of heterosexually explicit publications openly displayed and major group of heteroerotic magazines prominently display behind-the -counter. 6. We find Waldenbooks, Ketchikan, Alaska purposefully discriminatory against gays and lesbians. Both management's actions in refusing to carry any gay and lesbian theme magazines books, but also in the store personnel's attitude towards their gay and lesbian customers. The management seems to go to great lengths to let us know we are not welcome. We request Waldenbooks Board of Directors to take immediate and strong action to: 1. Correct and educate the management and personnel at the Ketchikan store for their acts of discrimination against gay and lesbian customers. Enforce Waldenbooks' company antidiscriminatory policy. 2. Carry at least a minimal selection of gay and lesbian theme magazines. 3. Provide at least a shelf of gay, lesbian, transsexual, and cross-dressing themed books. (glad.com, gay.com, planetout.com, the advocate.com all have lists of best selling books) 4. Add to the self help and parenting sections books that deal with gay/straight issues. (flag.com has an excellent book list)
