America: The Incipient Fascist State

gwbushhitler.jpg - 6.80 K I just finished reading America , The Incipient Fascist State. (Viewpoint, February 12, 2001in Archives) I gotta tell ya... It was a terrific article. It was put together beautifully and clearly and you have to WANT to miss the point... because it just cant be missed in this piece.

I want to thank you for providing the article... because I ...(and I'm sure others ).. sometimes feel that I might be reading too much into the political trends of late. . I know that I have seen this stuff coming for a long time... but it seems like I'm the only one who does. Fortunately... I got a little reinforcement from reading this article and I realize that .... no.... I'm not the only one who sees this impending disaster.

Thanks again…reinforcement can be a very valuable gift.

New Florida Vote Total: GORE +1,080

gore.jpg - 6.57 K Orlando Sentinel: GORE PLUS 569
New evidence continues to roll in that Al Gore did, in fact, carry the state of Florida in the presidential election. In the Orlando Sentinel's examination of discarded ballots in 16 counties, Al Gore picked up 569 votes, enough to erase the 537 vote margin Bush claimed to have in Florida.

The Orlando Sentinel reported, "Al Gore would have gained more than 200 extra votes if Orange County had conducted a hand recount of all its ballots that machines could not read after the Nov. 7 election." [Orlando Sentinel, 2/10/01]

Tribune Co.: GORE PLUS 366
The Tribune Co. examined ballots in the 15 counties with the highest rate of rejected ballots in Florida, and found 366 uncounted votes for Al Gore out of the more than 15,000 over- or undervotes. [Chicago Tribune, 1/28/01]

Palm Beach Post: GORE PLUS 682
A Palm Beach Post examination of disputed ballots in Palm Beach County found that Gore would have picked up 682 additional votes if dimpled ballots had been counted as votes. The gain for Gore would have been added to a 174-vote gain for Gore found during the County's hand recount that was not allowed into Florida's official tally by Secretary of State Katherine Harris. [Palm Beach Post, 1/27/01]

"The numbers don't lie: Al Gore carried Florida and won the 2000 election," said Democratic National Committee National Chair Terry McAuliffe. "It's too bad that Bush was so afraid of counting the votes that the press had to do it. Bush should keep these numbers in mind as he pushes his radical right-wing agenda."

P.S.: Bush Florida Lawyer Rewarded With High-Power Job
Bush is awarding Ted Olson, his lawyer in the Supreme Court Florida hearings, a top Justice Department job. Some of Olson's previous cases: trying to bar women from attending the Virginia Military Institute, and arguing that the Endangered Species Act is unconstitutional.

Bush Retaliates Against
California Disabled Veterans

A close examination of the Bush budget plan shows deep cuts in the Labor Department Veterans Employment office. Already 40 Disabled California Veterans have lost their jobs and the number is rising each week. Bush predicted on Larry King Live he would win California but lost by more than 1.4 million votes to Al Gore.
