Letters to Gay Today |
The offending site You'll be happy to know that the hate mongers in Marietta Ohio have had their sites shut down as of today. I tried to get into the sites and determined that they have been removed from the servers. Thanks for the heads up on these cretins. We should watch for them to surface elsewhere this week. J. D. Apology from A Pseudonym? Form all of us involved in the distasteful gay bashers web page to all those who were affected by reading. We are truly sorry for scaring you through our bad joke. The page has been removed from angelfire. We attempted to post apologies, but we were pulled shortly afterwards. The page was created almost a year ago all in the name of fun. We had a good time and unfortunately for most of you there were always people writing us telling us that the page was very funny and cool. We are not sure how the address of the page got out because we never published it or gave the address out to anyone we didn't know. Some people did respectfully disagree with us and we hope to send personal apologies to those individuals. The people who were rude and especially those who sent us obscene pictures we feel that you do not help the cause of your fellow homosexuals. We also feel that you are as much of the problem with this society as us punks who created this page. To all those who are concerned that we actually did go around beating the life out of homosexuals we never even considered it. It was all a joke and only a joke. We also did not in any way intend to include Doug Wickert or his college in this mess of hate we created. Non of the information given to angelfire, hotmail or the information given in the page was anywhere near the truth. Still playing games: "Rizzo" says Wickert had nothing to do with the page, but how can that be when they are the same person? Doug Wickert was a fan of our page and we happened to have a link to his page on ours. We are not even sure that Doug is his real name or that he does attend a college. We also would like to say that we do deserve to be beaten for publishing the page but we feel we have learned our lesson and will try to be more tasteful with our future pranks.
In closing we
would like to say that we are sticking to our guns on one thing and that
is homosexuality is a choice. If we can control our hate of you, than
you can control whom you chose to have sexual relations with. If you
want to differ with us on this than all 78 of you can send us more hate
mail. Rizzo_mike@hotmail.com
Please forgive us all
Ed. Note: The Marietta College newspaper identifies Marietta student, Doug Wickert, as the user of the name "mike rizzo". College Roommates Can't Always Be Lovers My name is ("Name Removed") I recently read your article on your website concerning my roommate and myself. All of the statements that included my name were taken completely and entirely out of context and without my knowledge. I do not know why this website (ed. his roommate's) contained this hateful propaganda, and I am disgusted that my name and the names of my other roommates have been included in this situation. The Heterosexual Alliance page: Saving us all from homosexuality I in no way endorse, promote, or agree with any of the views or opinions expressed on this or other websites with anti-homosexual beliefs. The Heterosexual alliance was a joke that happened between friends at lunch. It was never meant to hurt anyone and no group was ever going to be formed to attack or pressure homosexuals. I would welcome any contact or response from your organization and I would greatly appreciate my name being withdrawn from your site. If you have the ability to acquire the latest copy of the Marietta College newspaper The Marcolian, on page three you will see an interview where my other roommates and myself profess our innocence in the whole matter. Also, we denounce my roommate and his hateful beliefs and comments. I felt it was necessary to contact you before this matter got any more out of hand. I hope this all can be resolved as swiftly and justly as possible. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you or your colleges. Sincerely, ("Name Removed") Ed. Note: GayToday has no reason to disbelieve Mr. Gerber. He was identified in GayToday only as a student on campus who "apparent" name showed up as founding father on the Hetero Sexual Alliance web site. The Marcolian (Marietta College Newspaper) The Marcolian addressed the controversy in its recent edition The on line campus paper is full of articles on the creep. The editorial is very disturbing in that it tries to make a case for hate speech. Hope you continue to follow on this jerk-off boy. That Doug has a problem of honesty. He protests too much. J. A. An Atrocity Brought to Light Bravo on you prompt coverage of the Rizzo/Wickert assault. It apparently has been a grass roots group effort by many people that has brought this atrocity to light. My partner & I discovered the page Monday & began immediate action. We launched an eMail campaign to everyone we know. Tuesday morning we ran up a considerable phone bill reporting this atrocity to every pertinent authority we could think of. We wanted to inform you of several accomplishments we are proud of. We made copies of his pages immediately & supplied them to the Justice Department Tuesday morning as noted below. We also provided the same info to HRC which reacted promptly to our call for help Tuesday morning. Jim Grigg & Lane Lunceford Ed. Note: Thanks to everyone who worked hard to bring the Ohio hate site down. Walter Bell, first noticed—on Sunday,November 29-- an obscure mention about it on a university site in the South then telephoned to notify Marietta's Dr. Anderson on Monday November 30 at 12:06 p.m. ( from Bell's AOL phone log). The school newspaper incorrectly credited Amanda Jones—who called Monday evening-- for alerting the college first. It is possible that Ms. Jones heard of the site through Bell's GayNet@QueerNet posting since she is, in fact, on the list. Next, Walter Bell alerted GayToday, providing the newsmagazine with a scoop. There are some who refuse to believe—in spite of what Doug Wickert says, that he is, in fact, "mike rizzo," certain that he is protecting a comrade-in-arms. Currently GayToday is in touch with an activist who says she may have located the real 'mike rizzo." Releated Stories from the GayToday Archive: Murderers on Campus?
