You may want to make use of an unusual opportunity to record your own story and to add it to the newly-formed Gaze International audio archive! This non-profit archive actively promotes and distributes educational audio CDs, CD-ROMs, streaming Internet audio and transcripts of the collected stories of the international Lesbian/Gay/Bi/Transgender communities with the hope that greater exposure of our community's issues will result in increased awareness, tolerance and acceptance. You're invited to record and submit your story on this year's topic: Coming Out. Your story--submitted on tape, CD, DAT, MP3, RealAudio etc --will be edited and collated with other individual stories from around the world, creating a fascinating and inspirational resource. It will then be made available as a free-of-charge broadcast or an educational tool on CD, CD-ROM, and over the Internet as text and streaming audio.
"This is a chance for all of us—together--to create a unique resource and archive of an ever changing and growing international gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender community. Please help, record your story and let others share your experience!" Below are the technical specifications for recording your story for the archive. You can also view them at www.gaze.org.nz or you can email your questions to info@gaze.org.nz Tell Your Story By submitting material you are accepting that the material will be edited and combined with other material of a similar nature and will be made available for use in public forums. You will receive a complimentary c.d. copy of the finished sound-resource for your own educational purposes. The editor reserves all rights to the content which will appear in the Gaze International sound-resource archive. How do I submit my audio story? Stories are welcomed in ALL languages. They will appear in the original language followed by an English translation. E-mail Gareth Watkins, the Project Manager, about your intention to record your story. Remember: Your audio content must be no more than 30 minutes, it must be on this year's topic-- Coming Out-- and the content of your recording (part or whole) will be made publicly available for educational purposes. Record your story on audio cassette, DAT, CD or encode and transmit via the internet using RealAudio, MP3, or .WAV files. If you are using DAT--please sample at 44.1 kHz. If you are directly encoding your story in MP3, RealAudio or .WAV format on your computer, you will need to send your sound file to our FTP server. E-mail Gareth Watkins for more details. If you are POSTING your submission, e-mail Gareth for the proper address. Gareth Watkins info@gaze.org.nz (Project Editor) |
