Terrence McNally meet Salman Rushdie! Islamic militants have passed a fatwa on a writer who penned a play portraying Jesus Christ as a homosexual. Terrence McNally was sentenced to death by the Shari'ah Court of the UK as his play, Corpus Christi, opened in London. Muslims regard Jesus as a Messenger of God and revere his mother, the Virgin Mary, so the play was declared a blasphemy by the Al-Muhajiroun (The Defenders of the Messenger Jesus). The Scotsman-- October 29 Scotland the Brave The Scottish cabinet this week decided it would sweep away the vindictive Tory legislation that singles out gay relationships for condemnation. We believe that this legislation is unjust, reactionary and has no place in the Scotland of tomorrow. Wendy Alexander--Labour Minister for the Communities—The Scotsman, October 29 Snow Jobs & Blow Jobs Last weekend the Rev. Jerry Falwell met with a whole lot of gays. Can you beat that? I'm not sapp, but I think there's a huge value in love. Brad Pitt—"People Profiles" by Bruce Newman, November 1999 'Special Rights' are Forbes' Code Words I will hire people who are qualified for the job, people who can do the work at hand; people who are there to get something done, not to make a political statement about a life style. That's incidental. And so if a person wants a job to make a statement, they're not going to get it. If a person wants a job because they're qualified and have the same principles, the same philosophy, they will be actively considered for it. And in my campaign again, I believe in equal rights for all, special rights for none. Steve Forbes --Republican Candidate for the Presidency Jerry Falwell: Bob Kunst is a Dangerous Sinner
My intent is rather to challenge the homosexual agenda which, I believe, not only counters the Bible, but also contradicts the Judeo-Christian values set forth by our nation's Founding Fathers. I not only have a right to challenge him, I believe I have a biblical mandate to confront the culture – as did the Apostle Paul – with the Truth of Christ. Rev. Jerry Falwell—"Why did I do it?"—WorldNetDaily.com, October 27 No Wine, No Wafers, Just Bottled Water Sharing a meal is a powerful Christian symbol of comity and hospitality. The Eucharist itself is derived from the Last Supper. But when Jerry Falwell, the Lynchburg, Va.-based evangelist, hosted 200 mostly Christian gay men and lesbians and their supporters last weekend, the only fare on the table was bottled water.
