These Awards were created to honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives. This year, GLAAD expects more than 5,000 to attend the four ceremonies, raising more than $2.3 million for the organization's work.
American Airlines (GLAAD's official airline) AT&T, Mediapolis, Coors Brewing Company and Online Partners/Gay.com Network join the Media Awards as the event's Underwriters. Anheuser-Busch, PlanetOut, Propecia, Showtime Networks and Wells Fargo Bank are also major sponsors of the events.
