University of Toronto Art Teacher,
David Buller, Murdered

Toronto, Ontario, Canada—David Buller, whose specialty was homoerotic art, has been found murdered here in his downtown office. Police reports reveal that the University of Toronto instructor suffered multiple stab wounds.

According to local newspaper accounts, Mr. Buller had last been seen early Thursday afternoon, riding on an elevator with four students, one of whom had described him as “his usual friendly self,” on his way to procure a cup of coffee.

After Mr. Buller failed to show up for two of his lectures, students knocked on his office door wondering if he'd simply been delayed. There was no answer.

The dead man's office was located on the edge of the university campus in the Connaught Medical Sciences Building where a cleaning woman, at approximately 6:30 p.m., discovered his body.

Police are questioning anyone and everyone who might have known Mr. Buller. There is speculation that his interest in homoerotic art may have figured somehow in the murder.

Work he'd recently completed included pictures of young men, some of whom were scantily clad, others nude. In a 1996 exhibit, titled Strip, he advanced his premise that sexual relations can entail an element of threat.
