International News Report Paraguay Cuts Protease Inhibitors Funding Paraguay's National Fight Against AIDS Program has informed HIV- positive citizens that due to budgetary cutbacks it will now pay for only the two older drugs in each patient's three-drug antiviral combo. Patients will have to buy the third drug, the protease inhibitor, themselves, the agency said. However, the high cost of the inhibitors makes buying them impossible for nearly every HIV-positive Paraguayan. Local AIDS activists request protest letters to the following individuals.
