Oral Majority Protesters
Multiply in South Florida

Compiled By GayToday

bushit.jpg - 9.93 K Miami Beach, Florida--Following the publication of Stephen L. Goldstein's Oral Majority-friendly essay, "Silence is Complicity", in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Founder-chair Bob Kunst's newly-noticed group is experiencing rapid growth.

Goldstein, a South Florida author and TV commentator, captured in his essay the spirit of South Florida's outraged voters about what they've been calling "the theft" of Election 2000. U.S. Supreme Court "traitors to the Constitution" and illegal manipulations on the part of the Bush family, they say, are to blame.

"The Oral Majority telephone is ringing off the hook--up to a hundred calls daily," a breathless Kunst told GayToday, and as soon as I answer the 170th e-mail, it is already in the process of getting replaced by an incoming one."

Kunst is looking forward to delegating such tasks, he says, as he organizes his group's activities on increasingly larger scales. Currently, he is planning Oral Majority's decent on Hollywood at the Oscars.

When former President Bill Clinton arrived Saturday to speak at the Aventura Jewish Community Center, The Oral Majority suddenly marshaled a boisterous 20 protesters whose commentaries, were picked up by WTVJ-TV (the NBC affiliate) and independent news Channel 39.

On Friday, February 16, the Oral Majority will be present when the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights holds its second hearing about the manipulation that accompanied Florida's November 7 election. The demonstrators will appear at 8:30 a.m. at the Wyndam Hotel, at 16th Street and Biscayne Boulevard.

On the traditional President's Day, February 19, a contingent of the newly formed Palm Beach Oral Majority will hold a "Bush is Not My President" rally at 5 p.m. on Military Trail and Southern Boulevard, in concert with numerous other such demonstrations across the United States.
