Dr. Martin Luther King's Estate May Sue Anti-Gays
The estate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has threatened to sue
the group Stop Promoting Homosexuality International for using
King's photo in an anti-gay advertisement published in New
Zealand prior to the huge gay Hero parade last month.
The ad, printed February 10 in the New Zealand Herald, showed King,
Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi and a New Zealand human-rights
leader above the words, "It takes more than a parade to make a
hero."

Sweden Bans Job Discrimination
Sweden's parliament banned discrimination based on sexual
orientation in the job market March 3.
According to RFSL (Riksförbundet for Sexuellt Likaberättigande or
National Federation for Sexual Equality), "The law will apply to
all sections of the labor market as well as all categories of
employees including applicants for a job."
RFSL President Christine Gilljam welcomed the law but said she is
concerned about an exception that might permit private religious
schools to discriminate against gay teachers.
