Met Life Runs Provocative Ad

metgay.jpg - 26.69 K Metropolitan Life is running a provocative ad in the South African glossy gay magazine OUTright.

Two men who look like accounting geeks are pictured standing and holding notebooks. One man is looking at the other's notebook, which the latter is holding near his crotch. The photo caption reads: "'Nice endowment,' said Steve, admiring Scott's impressive package."

At the bottom of the ad, it is explained, "For more information on some of South Africa's top performing Endowments and Retirement Annuities, or life assurance and investment packages, call your broker, 0800 2244688 toll-free or find us at: www.metropolitan.co.za".
French Partnership Bill Rejected Again

The French Senate May 11 again rejected a bill that would have granted gay and straight unmarried partners many of the rights and obligations of matrimony.

The National Assembly had passed the measure April 7 by a vote of 300-253.

A previous attempt passed the Assembly last Dec. 9 but was rejected by the Senate on March 18.
