Tatchell Vows to Again
Seek Arrest of Zimbabwean President

Compiled By GayToday

Activist Peter Tatchell continues his crusade against Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe's homophobia Leicester, England-Speaking July 21 at the Leicester Pride festival in Victoria Park here, Peter Tatchell said:

"President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe says that lesbian and gay people are 'lower than pigs and dogs', and 'not entitled to human rights'.

"What would Mugabe know about human rights? His government condones torture, kidnapping and murder.

"Well I have news for President Mugabe: your days are numbered! You can abuse human rights and spread anti-gay hate, but your rule will be over soon - and Zimbabwe will be free.

"No matter what it takes, I intend to continue seeking the arrest of President Mugabe on charges of torture and crimes against humanity - under the same international human rights laws that have been used to arrest the ex-Yugoslav President, Slobodan Milosevic.

"Slobodan Milosevic is under arrest. Robert Mugabe will be next.

"When President Mugabe goes to the Commonwealth Conference in Brisbane in October, I will be there.

"Again, I will try to arrest him - and I'll keep trying until there is democracy and human rights for all Zimbabweans, black and white, gay and straight.
